PRESS TRIP TO OD BARCELONA
In September we took a group of journalists to OD Barcelona to celebrate the launch of the new luxury boutique hotel, which opened in mid-August. The trip was attended by journalists from distinguis
hed publications such as The Week Online, Good Things Magazine, Town & Country and The Luxury Editor.
Centrally located in the Eixample District, OD Barcelona is the perfect place from which to explore the vast food, culture and shopping scene that this cosmopolitan city has to offer. OD Hotel’s most important concepts; light and space are evident throughout the 98 rooms and suites, the lobby lounge, restaurant with terrace and garden subsequently achieving the atmosphere of a relaxed oasis within the busy city.
We began the trip with lunch at OD Barcelona followed by a fantastic guided tour at Liceu Opera House. The tour included a visit to the Cercle del Liceu, the oldest and most prestigious English-style private club in Barcelona housing one of Catalonia’s most important private collections of Catalan Art Nouveau. In the evening we set off for a sailing tour against the stunning backdrop of the Mediterranean sunset. For our last stop of the day it was off to the El Raval neighbourhood to enjoy a traditional Spanish dinner at Casa Leopoldo.
The following day we were treated to a sunlit breakfast at OD Barcelona before heading straight off for a tour and wine tasting at the beautiful vineyards of Alta Allela located just outside of the city. The group then headed to Els Garrofers where we enjoyed the best of season
al Catalan cuisine with locally sourced ingredients. Of course, no trip to Barcelona would be complete without a visit to one of Gaudi’s works. Our guided visit to Torres Bellesguard allowed us to get a closer look at this stunning and renowned architecture. Dinner at the new Café del Mar Port Forum was the end to a perfect day, enjoying contemporary dishes and music from live DJs.
The final morning was spent enjoying another delightful breakfast at OD Barcelona on the terrace and soaking up the last of the summer rays before flying home.
